What is The Riotous Belle?
The Riotous Belle is sort of an alias, popped up in my mind when I was still in junior high and starting this blog. Riotous means wild, infinite and free, just like imaginations. And Belle comes from my last name Isabella, I love it because it sounds pretty.
Why do you blog?
Because I want to share things that inspires me. When people visit my blog I want them to feel like they’re visiting my bedroom, being in my most personal sanctuary where I do my favourite things. I just love that awesome feeling of being in your safest place alone yet you can interact with so many people who read this blog at the same time. Feels like being a socially-active introvert... weird but fun.
What’s your blog about?
A personal diary where I'm taking you to my journey, seeing what I love in my perspective, what I’ve been doing, and what’s in my mind… and fashion takes one big part of it. It’s like a private record where you can peek anytime. I post pictures of my own in this blog, but I also blog daily stuff filled with self-talks, girl things & Ryan Gosling pictures in my tumblr, if you want to check that out.
What is your job actually?
My day job is running a little dessert & coffee shop called Ninotchka, where I contain my hobby in baking & eating. I have a shop of clothing and sunglasses, Riots Barbie. I also play guitar and make music.
What do you use to take & edit pictures on the blog?
I use Samsung NX Mini with standard lens and Samsung NX 3000 with 45mm f 1.8 lens. I edit them with Adobe Photoshop CS2.
Are you homeschooling? Why, and how is the system?
Yes I was homeschooled since junior high and I wrote a post about my homeschooling experience here.
What’s your height / weight? How old are you?
158 cm / 50 kg. And I’m currently twenty-two years old.
Do you always buy all the stuff you posted?
Most of them, yes. The rest of them are gifts from my friends, mom and dad, and my readers! But it doesn’t mean that you have to spend a lot of money. I’m quite a cheapskate (in a good way, I hope), I do thrift-hunting anywhere. As soon as I arrive at some new country I travel to, I usually go to the nearest thrift / vintage stores in the area. You can’t believe what kind of stuff you can find there, and also it’s a total penny-pincher. Each piece of clothing in my closet, they all have interesting stories to tell. :)
What kind of guitar & ukulele do you play?
I play acoustic guitar. My dad taught me with his old acoustic guitar, and I got my first guitar as a birthday present when I was 9 years old. On my 12th birthday I got another acoustic guitar from my mom’s friend. On my 18th birthday I finally bought myself Cort acoustic guitar which I currently have now, and I recently bought a pink Yadars ukulele from ebay.
What kind of music do you listen to?
I listen to any kinds of music; my most-played tracks are from Paramore, Blink 182, +44, New Found Glory. I also listen to folk and acoustic music. A few of my favourite musicians: She & Him, Daughter, Now Now, Halfnoise, Bon Iver, Camera Obscura, Gregory and The Hawk, and Birdy.
