Happy Valentine's Day. This post is a life-saver for you, clueless gift givers.
Valentine’s Day is coming closer and if you have the habit of giving or exchanging gifts on holiday for mom, dad, boyfriend or best friend, especially those in long term relationships. It actually depends on what type of gift-giver are you. If you’re like me a.k.a the sentimental person, you’ll ALWAYS want the gift to be personal, has its own special meaning to you and the receiver, and it endures for a long time. I bet after a few years, you’ll run out of ideas.
Or maybe you’re the simple type who have no hints of the person’s interest and fashion taste, so you always end up picking the wrong gifts and it disappoints everyone. So yes, people, here I am sorting out the ten simple yet precious gifts to be given on those special days. Worry no more!
First, I want to fix what everyone else has been thinking about gifts and women. What’s the only thing that comes across everyone’s head when they have to look for presents for women who love fashion? Shoes. Okay, women love shoes. But not just any shoes. FYI, we need to find a special connection with shoes, that chemistry from the window display to actually trying it. Therefore you just can’t randomly pick a pair of shoes or clothing to surprise her if you don’t exactly know what’s on her Pinterest wish list. (On behalf of all the women in the world, I just want to say: We’re women. We leave hints.)
So what do we love to have? While clothes is women’s daily need, try to give something that won’t end up piling on our closet with all our other clothes, it just won’t look so special anymore. What about jewellery? *guys and girls gasp in horror* I found that jewellery might be taboo if you are in a relationship because A: it means a deeper commitment or for proposal only! or B: and it’s pricey!
My personal favorite jewellery piece is a ring because it’s timeless, it looks beautiful on my finger, especially if it comes from a special someone. I can always wear it and it reminds me of that lovely Valentine’s Day or my birthday a few years back. So take note, when a girl wants a ring, sometimes all she wants is a ring. And as a girl, I also buy it myself or as a gift to my mom or my sister as a token of love, there is nothing wrong in that.
About the price, I used to have that kind of perception, too. There are also some people who find it intimidating to enter a jewellery shop because it must be expensive. But what if I told you that jewellery could be more affordable than a pair of shoes, or a piece of clothing? OK, don’t lose your mind yet.
I found out about ORORI two years ago, when I got a diamond necklace on my 20th birthday; it’s beautiful, and it has a diamond certificate to make it even more legit. I continued to browse the website and get one for myself, and I realised shopping for jewellery has never been this easy. There are options to choose when you visit the website, and I was surprised that these beautiful gold jewellery collection starts below IDR 1,000,000, cheaper than most pair of shoes or clothing you’ll find in malls yet you can get a much better value, endurance and signification; it’s timeless. The price range is really friendly and far from your horror expectation, they deliver it right to your house safely, including the certificate.
Now, the gift guide! I’m a fan of the classic round shape, because it’s timeless and goes with anything. My first pick is a row of round diamonds pendant, which would look very stunning worn with a wide neckline black dress.
The second and third is a combination of gold and white gold earrings and pendant, which I love because it allows you to mix both colors on other accessory.
The forth is a men’s ring which I chose because I love how simple yet gallant it looks with a tux, this is the kind of jewellery gift I’d get for boyfriend or my Dad.
And the last one is a pair of round and textured gold earrings, I’d get this one for my sister or my BFF because it works both for work and for fun. It can be worn with a simple white buttoned shirt or an evening dress, there’s nothing I like more than a simple jewellery with a versatility.
So that’s it for my jewellery guide on Valentine’s Day, I hope it helps you pick for your loved ones or yourself. :)
